The Collavino Wetland

A multi-year rehabilitation project on a River Canard-area wetland choked by invasive phragmites, will soon be home again to native plant and marsh bird species.
After the dyke was restored and a large pump installed, most of the water was then pumped out of the wetland to protect the fish before a contractor sprayed the phragmites with herbicide.
A controlled burn, seen here, was then performed to remove leftover biomass.
