Algoma District

After a nine hour drive from Windsor, Ontario, I spent three nights camping in the Algoma District around Sault Ste. Marie. My first night was spent on a site at Mississagi Provincial Park - in a very quiet, rustic, car camping site, 20 minutes north of Elliot Lake.
The next day, after an hour drive, I found a beautiful slice of Crown land Iād researched on the Mississagi River just off Highway #129. No reservations, no fees, no hassle.
After cooking a nice breakfast the next morning, i travelling north on #129 before heading west for two hours on a well maintained dirt road towards the shores of Lake Superior. Here I found a slice of beach I had all to myself where I swam, drank some beer, cooked dinner while listening the Tigers game on the radio, and slept undisturbed on a tiny dirt road adjacent to the shore and the Trans-Canada Highway.
I woke up at dawn and made the trek back towards Toronto.
