Water Treatment

Fashioned in Art Deco style, the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant was finished construction in 1941 on the banks of Lake Ontario in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto. Construction began on the site in 1932 when the city was plagued with water shortages and unclean drinking water. It remains fully functional and in 1992 it was named a national historic civil engineering site by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering.
