The Siren
In 1926, as America and Detroit are booming, Rudolph Wurlitzer, creator of the renowned Wurlitzer Organ, built an office building south of Grand Circus in the heart of downtown, that included a recording studio, repair shop, music store, and concert space, as well as offices for the Rudolph Wurlitzer Co. For five decades the elegant and slender 14-story office building at 1509 Broadway was a testament to the city's musical might. But by the 1970's, the Wurlitzer company had left, and in 1982, the building was abandoned.
In 2015, after nearly 33 years of sitting empty, ASH NYC bought the building and in March of 2018 The Siren Hotel opened it's doors to a resurgent Motown.
