Downriver Industry
The industrial aesthetic celebrates the beauty of the built environment. According to Le Corbusier, “Nothing is more modern than a factory.” To him, the factory is not just as a symbol of production, but as a model for efficiency, clarity, function, and form — values central to modern architecture and design.
These photos were taken on a recent boat trip I took in the River Rouge/Delray area of the Detroit River. They are part of a broader project I’m working on looking at shoreline use.
