Trump's War on Canada
A photo editor from the Globe and Mail called me late Monday evening asking if I could be at the Ambassador Bridge for midnight to meet two reporters driving down from Toronto. Tariffs were set to go into effect at midnight. This was later revised to an early morning start when I met up with the reporters and headed to the Husky Hungry Restaurant - a trucker’s diner on the edge of town. For the next two days we’d be scrambling for leads, going back and forth to Detroit, and chasing the developing news as it unfolded. On a third day I was asked to again illustrate the automotive companies transporting trucks across the border after the auto sector was given a reprieve. Below are some of my images from the three days.
